Some of the things that you can do in and around Littleton, Colorado is to visit the Littleton Museum, Jungle Quest, Pirates Cove Water Park, or Belleview Park. All of these locations are family orientated destinations. Let’s begin with a trip to the beautiful Belleview Park. You and your family members can easily spend the entire day there.
The Belleview Park is located at 5001 S. Inca Drive and is open Monday – Saturday: 10 AM to 4 PM, and on Sunday 11 AM to 4 PM. The Park contains the Englewood Farm and Children’s Train. The Englewood miniature train has been running in the park for over 30 years. There is an average of 60,000 riders each year.
The train will run every summer beginning with the Memorial Day weekend and then continuing on through Labor Day. The train is closed on Mondays except for Labor Day and Memorial Day. You do not need to get a prior reservation to ride the train as it is first to come first serve. Unfortunately, due to some expected circumstances, the train will be closed for the entire 2018 season.
The other great attraction at Belleview Park is the Englewood Children’s Farm. As a side note, both the farm and the train cost two dollars per person for anyone who is two years and older. When you visit the Children’s Farm it is like traveling back into time and experiencing a tiny bit of yesteryear. Your children will be able to spend hours getting to know the different farm animals.
The barnyard at this amazing farm has a selection of chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, and other barnyard animals. You will also be able to enjoy Buttercup who is a full-sized fiberglass milking cow. Unlike the train, you will need to make an advance reservation at least three days prior to your visit if you are coming with a group of 10 or more people.
Before Memorial Day you can call 303-762-2661 and after the Memorial Day weekend you can call 303-798-6927. It is important to note that children must be accompanied at all times by an adult. If you would like to be a volunteer or work at the farm then simply go online to their website and click on the “contact us” tab.
This destination is only a short 4 miles (approximately) from Littleton. Simply follow the US – 85 route and you will be there within 10 minutes.
